✖️ Multiplying by 11Antyayoreva — "Only the last two digits"
Trick: Place zero at both ends → add each digit to its right neighbor.
- Step 1: Write number with leading & trailing zero (e.g., 34 → 0 3 4 0)
- Step 2: Add adjacent pairs: 0+3, 3+4, 4+0 → 3, 7, 4 → 374
- Carry if sum ≥10.
π 34×11=374 | 57×11=627 | 123×11=1353 | 99×11=1089
✖️ Multiplying by 12Sopantyadvayamantyam
Trick: n×12 = n×10 + n×2 (fastest). Or use adjacency method.
- Method: Multiply by 10 (append zero) and add twice the number.
- Example: 45×10=450, 45×2=90, sum=540.
- Works for any number — mental math friendly.
π 45×12=540 | 83×12=996 | 37×12=444 | 124×12=1488
✖️ Multiplying by 15Halving & Doubling (Ekadhikena)
Trick: n×15 = (n×10) + (n×10)/2 = 10n + 5n.
- Step 1: Multiply number by 10 (append 0).
- Step 2: Take half of that product.
- Step 3: Add both numbers.
π 24×15 = 240 + 120 = 360 | 68×15 = 680 + 340 = 1020 | 33×15 = 330 + 165 = 495
✖️ Multiplying by 19Ekanyunena Purvena — "One less than previous"
Trick: 19 = 20 - 1 → n×19 = n×20 - n.
- Step 1: Multiply the number by 20 (double and add zero).
- Step 2: Subtract the original number.
- Instant result — no complex steps.
π 35×19 = 700 - 35 = 665 | 42×19 = 840 - 42 = 798 | 124×19 = 2480 - 124 = 2356
