CLASS 4 SUBJECT Maths

Rupees and Paise

  • Visit a nearby shop and find the cost of Stationery Items. 
  • Quiz on conversion of rupees to paise and vice versa.

Carts and wheels

  • Draw circles is the playground using thread and twig / chalk, locate the centre, estimate the radius
  • Designs using compasses and Circular objects


Halves and Quarters

  • Framing of questions by looking at pictures.
  • Story problems
  • Worksheets on all 4 basic operations


Play with patterns

  • Magic squares and triangles, play with patterns, creative activity

Tables and Shares

  • Arrange things in sequence and develop the multiplication fact
  • Eg. desks in the classroom with different combination
  • Story problems, Pupils frame questions

How Heavy? How light?

  • Differentiate things bought to grams and kilograms
  • Compare the weights and height
  • Visit a post office and find the Cost of sending Parcels & different weights. Calculate the rate for the given weight.

Fields and Fences

  • Find the areas. of regular and irregular figures
  • Solve the puzzles pertaining to areas

Smart charts

  •  Collect (interpret data Pertaining from  news paper and represent it in tabular form
  • Conduct class survey and represent the data as Smart charts
  • Preparing Smart charts for the data given and  explaining the same to classmates

Activity 1

  • To find the Centre of a Circle by paper folding and verify that the length of radius of the circle is always same.
  • To make  a geometrical design using Compass and a ruler.
  • To make a pattern of different circles with (i) Same centre and different radii (ii) same radii and Centre's on the Same line.
