second digit = 9 (Always 9)

If below the base then Write complement of  the base 10 & Put the sign – 

If above the base then Write above of  the base 10 & Put the sign +

Now separate L / R

BASE 10

LEFT hand part cross subtraction or cross addition

In right hand part if more than 1 place then subtract it from left hand part 

Then Write the predecessor of the number.

Right hand part vertically multiply 

 the two digits 

product should write By 1 place with vinculate (bar)

To devinculate the bar write the complement

EXTRA SUMS

3 X 14 = ____

15 X 8 = ____
