Class 07 Congruence of triangles tangram activity

CONGRUENCE OF TRIANGLES

ACTIVITY – 2. Tangram Activity

DATE:

AIM / Objective:

To find Congruence of triangles

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

Pencil, scale, eraser

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE:

Concept of Congruence of triangles

PROCEDURE:

Description:

Students will be made to cut the 7 pieces of a tangram from the following figure.

LEARNING ASSESSMENT:

1. Find two pairs of congruent triangles from the 7 given pieces.

2. Make a triangle using the congruent triangles 4 and 5.

Place this triangle on the triangle 3.

3. Is the new triangle congruent to the triangle 3?

4. Make a square using two congruent triangles 1 and 2.

Is this square congruent to the original square piece from which the tangram set was made? Give reasons.

Class 07 Congruence of triangles fly in air

CONGRUENCE OF TRIANGLES

ACTIVITY – 1. Fly in Air

DATE:

AIM / Objective:

To draw and find the congruence of triangles

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

Pencil, scale, eraser

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE:

Concept of Congruence of triangles

PROCEDURE:

Description: Let ABC = RQP

Draw these 2 triangles using same colour. Cut out these triangles and paste on appropriate position for aero plane wings as given in the figure below.

LEARNING ASSESSMENT:

How many more congruent triangles can be drawn in the given figure. Draw them

SOLUTION:

I can draw _____ congruent triangles in the given figure.

Class 07 The triangles and their properties fun with matchsticks

TRIANGLES AND THEIR PROPERTIES

ACTIVITY –3. Fun with match sticks

DATE:

AIM / Objective:

To form a triangles using matchsticks

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

Pencil, scale, eraser

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE:

Concept of triangles

PROCEDURE:

Description:

Take 3 sets of match sticks as mentioned below.

Set A – [1 stick, 2 sticks, 3 sticks]

Set B – [2 sticks, 2 sticks, 5 sticks]

Set C – [3 sticks, 4 sticks, 5 sticks]

Taking sticks (as mentioned above) as length of sides of triangle,

LEARNING ASSESSMENT:

try to form triangle for each set. Note down your observations.
