π Concept of Equivalent Fractions
Equivalent fractions are different fractions that represent the same value.
π Multiply or divide numerator and denominator by same number → value stays same
✏ Example 1
Start fraction: 1/2
Multiply top and bottom by 2:
1 × 2 = 2
2 × 2 = 4
π Equivalent fraction = 2/4
✏ Example 2
Start fraction: 3/5
Multiply by 3:
3 × 3 = 9
5 × 3 = 15
π Equivalent fraction = 9/15

π Whatever you do to numerator, do the same to denominator
